In 2024, we produced and processed in an even more sustainable way. We continued our decarbonization and resource-efficiency strategy, reducing the GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions of our operations by 6% compared to 2023.
Reducing energy consumption
We developed and implemented continuous efficiency projects to improve energy efficiency at all our locations
Using renewable electricity
· Globally, 98% of the electricity we consume comes from renewable sources, reaching 100% in both the Iberian Peninsula and the USA
· We installed 2 new solar units for irrigation, totaling 11 farms with self‑generated energy
Certifying our operations
· We renewed the certifications that distinguish us, covering quality and food safety, environmental management, social responsibility, and energy efficiency
· Our Almada, Barreiro and Nutrifarms plants received the eCircular classification, a voluntary circular economy classification system promoted by ADENE
· We obtained the ISCC certification in Brenes for the valorisation of three by‑products, including their use for biofuels
Electrifying our logistics and fleet
We introduced electric vehicles for transport between Brenes and Andújar, reducing CO₂ transport emissions by 30%. We are also renewing our employees’ fleet with electric and hybrid vehicles
Optimising our packaging
We promote the reduction of resource use and the incorporation of certified, recycled and recyclable material, having increased our consumption of recycled PET by 60%
Extending our carbon footprint calculation
We now cover all Group companies and all categories of indirect emissions
