We have reinforced our purpose of feeding futures, with increasing maturity in how we integrate sustainability into our business.

In 2024, we produced and processed in an even more sustainable way. We continued our decarbonization and resource-efficiency strategy, reducing the GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions of our operations by 6% compared to 2023.
Reducing energy consumption
We developed and implemented continuous efficiency projects to improve energy efficiency at all our locations

Using renewable electricity
· Globally, 98% of the electricity we consume comes from renewable sources, reaching 100% in both the Iberian Peninsula and the USA
· We installed 2 new solar units for irrigation, totaling 11 farms with self‑generated energy

Certifying our operations
· We renewed the certifications that distinguish us, covering quality and food safety, environmental management, social responsibility, and energy efficiency
· Our Almada, Barreiro and Nutrifarms plants received the eCircular classification, a voluntary circular economy classification system promoted by ADENE
· We obtained the ISCC certification in Brenes for the valorisation of three by‑products, including their use for biofuels

Electrifying our logistics and fleet
We introduced electric vehicles for transport between Brenes and Andújar, reducing CO₂ transport emissions by 30%. We are also renewing our employees’ fleet with electric and hybrid vehicles

Optimising our packaging
We promote the reduction of resource use and the incorporation of certified, recycled and recyclable material, having increased our consumption of recycled PET by 60%

Extending our carbon footprint calculation
We now cover all Group companies and all categories of indirect emissions

Getting recognition for Nutrifarms’ best agricultural practices

We continued to invest in the well‑being and development of our people and communities. We focused on leadership and sustainability training, seeking a more universal, deeper and faster transformation.
Renewing the family‑responsible company certification in Portugal
We promote work‑life balance, and we aim to extend this certification to other geographies
Achieving 4‑pillar SMETA certification in Andújar
We ensure the highest ethical, labour, health, safety and environmental practices throughout our supply chain
Training our executives in sustainability and leadership
We trained more than 140 managers in ESG topics (80% of our goal) and empowered over 30 managers in Portugal and Spain through the “Sovena, Growing Future Leaders” programme, which included 3,000 hours of executive training
Awarding scholarships through the Amélia de Mello Foundation
We achieved the highest level of participation ever:
· 19 Bachelor’s scholarships
· 5 Master's scholarships
· 24 families supported in Portugal and Spain
Designing the “Power to ALL” programme
We promote the inclusion of people with disabilities
Driving healthy eating innovation
We introduced 19 new Centazzi products, including granolas, tortitas and raw bars
Reaffirming consumers’ trust
Oliveira da Serra was recognized as Portugal’s Trusted Brand for the 7th consecutive year, and Fula has been leading the cooking oil category for 19 years
Governance
Our activity is founded on fundamental pillars: ethics, dignity, equality and respect. We provide a safe, inclusive and discrimination‑free workplace and are committed to promoting and protecting human rights.
Updating our policies
We revised and developed new internal policies to be published in 2025: Human Rights, Conflict of Interest, Anti-Corruption, and Donations and Gifts
Strengthening supplier relationships
· We implemented a monitoring plan and achieved a 94% response rate in the first year
· We promote capacity events on emerging topics for more than 850 Iberian olive oil suppliers
Anticipating legal requirements
We prepared our first sustainability report in accordance with the new European standards
